Frequently asked questions
When starting your adventure with winter sports, a million questions are bound to arise in your mind. Don’t be afraid, you don’t need to know everything, that’s what we are for. Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions by our students. If you do not find a satisfactory answer here, please feel free to contact us by phone or e-mail, since mid-December we are also available at our school, where we will be happy to help you with any question you may have!
As in most sports, it is best to start training/learning when the child is sufficiently developed in motor skills and reasonably coordinated. Mostly this is at the age of 4/5. However, children develop at different rates, and this doesn’t mean they can’t start their adventure on the snow.
Our experienced staff will adjust the exercises and intensity of the classes to the ability of the little student(s). Besides, children learn best through play and there is no shortage of this on our slope! Sometimes it happens that we take quite small babies to the slope, when, for example, older siblings start learning and the younger two/three-year-old wants to be like a brother or sister. In such a case, we recommend a “lesson” of half an hour, because such a little man is not able to focus longer.
Such a lesson is completely different, the child is in full assistance and here all the work is done by the instructor / woman and the child is only to have fun and have positive associations with snow. This is very important because at such a young age our preferences are developing.
Of course, there are situations in which we must refuse a student, these are, for example, health reasons. It is very important that you do not conceal illnesses and past injuries of yourself or your children. It is worth pointing this out when booking. Also, it is worth informing us about mental illnesses and disorders.
Most of them do not disqualify you from skiing (also mature age is not an obstacle), but it gives us a chance to choose the right instructor and prepare a program of classes corresponding to your abilities and needs, and we have in our staff experienced mountain rescuers from GOPR and educators.
Skiing and snowboarding, like most sports, is risky, but honesty in the interview will allow us to keep it to a minimum, and give you maximum fun! Here I will add that the list of our adepts includes people with Down syndrome, autistic or blind.
Yes, we have our own equipment rental shop, which is located opposite the school office. You pay for the equipment at the office/reception and then go to pick it up. The men from the rental shop will select and prepare the equipment for you, so the only thing you need to know is your and possibly your kids’ weight, height and shoe number.
Along Urocza Street leading to our school as well as to the Ski Arena there is a municipal parking lot, the cost is 30zl per day. In high season, however, parking a car there is quite a challenge and at 8:00 there may no longer be room. Fear not, however, there are private parking lots above Wesola Górka, where you should have no problem leaving your car.
Prices are similar everywhere so it is worth driving into the first one where there are spaces. Especially since this road is one-way, and if you drive too far, you have to go all the way down and return via Urocza Street.
At the latest, you should be half an hour before the scheduled lesson. During rush hour or when you are a larger group it should be even an hour. In this regard, please be understanding, keep in mind that it is winter in the mountains, so there may already be problems when reaching us. The selection of equipment also often takes a lot of time, especially on the first day (the already selected equipment we can describe and put away for you).
This is the most important step, because your comfort and safety depends on it, so please be patient and do not rush our wonderful gentlemen from the rental shop.
In all unforeseeable accidents (we mean illness, accident or other serious situation), of course, the advance payment will be returned, . However, if the client does not show up for the class without informing the reception 24 hours before the scheduled class date, the advance payment will not be refunded.
